CHAN ENG HEE & WAN LING
Sarawak
I was 18 and brimming with enthusiasm when I joined the workforce. At around the same time, a friend contacted and introduced me to AMWAY™. Fresh out of school and not financially sound, I agreed to sign up.
The next three years, I switched jobs frequently from being a packaging staff to delivery boy and medicine salesman. My life was a monotony of familiar patterns and my dreams were too far from reach. The AMWAY business was not getting me anywhere, hence I called it quits.
It was at the end of 1985, when I was 21 years old, that I chanced upon AMWAY again. Thanks to my upline leaders, I was finally able to evaluate the business from a different perspective and appreciate its true value.
Attending meetings and events allowed me to glean AMWAY’s distinctive business fundamentals, which focus on sharing and helping one another. I put in all my effort, realising that AMWAY is about “improving oneself in order to improve mankind”. This increased my conviction that we can achieve our dreams through this “soap business”.
Prior to AMWAY, Wan Ling worked in accounts. Shy and an introvert, she did not like AMWAY at first. By attending meetings and using the products regularly, her confidence in herself and
AMWAY started to grow.
She even began helping our downlines to develop their businesses. It was in May 2004, after a seminar, that Wan Ling found the inspiration to go full swing into AMWAY.
Looking back, it’s been 20 years since I last held a 9-to-5 job. We have encountered our fair share of obstacles, but we took them all in stride. When you’re focused on your goal, challenges will just fall to the wayside.
Sheer grit and hard work have brought us from Platinums to Diamonds. Every step forward brings us closer to our dreams. We have experienced improvements to our lifestyle and outlook on life.
