Triple Diamond
ABDULLAH & MARIAM
Pulau Pinang
I heard about the AMWAY™ Business Opportunity some time ago from my friend, but I was never invited for a meeting. So when Mariam’s uncle and aunt, Fadzil Mahamud & Kalsom Din came to sell us SA8™, I asked him for the SA88 form and signed up.
Due to my lack of understanding, we stopped after three months for four and a half years. In 1989, Mariam purchased ARTISTRY™ cosmetics and Diamond Chan Poh Yoke came to our house with the items Mariam had ordered and asked us to sign up again. Although I declined, she did not fail to drop by every Wednesday to chat.
One day she invited me to join a business course, but upon arrival I found out that it was an AMWAY business training. This angered me greatly, but when it came to the part where one of the speakers presented the Sales & Marketing Plan, I had an epiphany and decided to try the business again. Since then, I never failed to attend weekly meetings.
In 1994, my business started to decline due to lack of a mentor after Diamond Chan Poh Yoke’s passing. It came to a stage where our house almost being auctioned off by the bank. We had to push through because I had resigned from my job as a postman in 1997. Through our concerted effort and perseverance, we successfully brought our business back on track.
Without uplines or Platinum we went through many challenges while building the business, but we believe that everybody can succeed as long as they have vision, determination and grit.
AMWAY is not an easy business to understand for those who are lazy and unwilling to learn, but for those who are hardworking and positive it is simple. We have to understand the AMWAY philosophy that “to succeed is to help others succeed first”.
If a former postman with a Sijil Rendah Pelajaran and nothing more than a lower secondary education can be a Diamond, what more those who have higher academic qualifications?
