NORLIZAH MOHD REDUAN & RAMLY
Johor
I used to be a school clerk and my husband operated his own private schools. Our lives were separate and very hectic because we had different dreams and goals.
In July 1989, Founders Platinum Rosminah Bahrin, introduced the AMWAY™ opportunity to me. I signed up as an AMWAY Business Owner (ABO) because I liked the ARTISTRY™ products.
After some months, I became very excited and was ready to start my AMWAY business. Initially Ramly wasn’t interested at all because he was busy with his three private schools and was also very active in politics.
Ramly comes from a very modest family with 7 siblings. But he had big goals and dreams. He was a medical student at University of Malaya, but due to his poor health, he had to forgo his ambition. All his dreams vanished into thin air. I firmly believed that AMWAY could revive and fulfil his dreams.
After attending a few meetings, we discovered that it was a very unique opportunity. The Sales & Marketing Plan offered ‘residual income’ which means that after we had worked very hard and succeeded, we could take a break and there would still be income.
Furthermore, our income could be passed on to our children. I still remember the words of one of the leaders, “We don’t just sell soap, we sell hope.”
Together, we made a decision to seriously build our AMWAY business. We believe that without challenges, there is no success. And, to be good leaders one needs to be self-confident, patient and teachable.
After qualifying Emerald in 1994, we felt that it was quite an accomplishment and we took a break. Then, in 1996, Ramly left his private school business and we could concentrate full-time on our AMWAY business.
To attain success, it is important to have a vision. Nothing will be gained, if we don’t dare to dream. In the AMWAY business, we don’t just see the soap but we see the opportunity and hope that it brings.
