It all started with a house meeting in Bukit Mertajam on 4 March, 1984. We were not interested in starting any business as we were occupied with our jobs. On top of that, we were attending night classes with hope of improving our lifestyle.

It was only out of obligation to my uncle and sponsor, Suppiah Parimala, and the fact that we had nothing to lose, which prompted us to join AMWAY.

Invitations to meetings and rallies were rejected. On top of our jobs, I was also a Penang State Hockey player and my wife taught tuition part-time. Through our sponsor’s persistence, we finally attended an AMWAY recognition meeting.

Listening to the guest speaker share his experience, achievements and lifestyle marked a turning point for us. Thanks to the guest speaker, we decided to start our own AMWAY business to realise our dreams and help others fulfil theirs.

We were determined to succeed – so many AMWAY leaders and Diamonds have proven beyond doubt that if you were willing to go after your dream, nothing can stop you.

AMWAY has also strengthened our spiritual belief and led us to contribute to charity and our community. We started off with an old motorbike as our only asset. Today, we can afford to have two cars and two beautiful houses.

Winners never quit and quitters never win. Your attitude determines your altitude. Have a positive mental attitude and be open to possibilities.
