Many of us want to see a change in our lives, and make a breakthrough in our careers. But how many are actually successful?

That’s how Ah Chen and I were – stuck in a rut we couldn’t get out off. We had been in the awning business for 26 years, and had constant problems with the workers, faced stiff competition and struggled to make ends meet.

I wanted to switch careers, but my lack of education was a setback. I looked for opportunities but many slipped by.

On 25 November 1982, I learnt about the AMWAY™ Business Opportunity. I didn’t think I could do it. I was terribly shy, and did not have many friends. I wasn’t good at selling and did not like the thought of being a door-to-door salesman! How could I do well in such a business like AMWAY?

Undaunted, my sponsor spent three days and three nights explaining things to me. Then the immense potential of an AMWAY business dawned on me and I made a decision to give it a try.

Fifteen years ago, the AMWAY business was different and in some ways, more difficult. My sponsor lived 200 miles away, and my upline was even further away, in Ipoh. Attending meetings and ordering stocks were a challenge. Somehow, we managed to cope.

Before being AMWAY Business Owners (ABOs), Ah Chen and I had never travelled out of Malaysia. Since signing up, we have been overseas 13 times. We have visited Australia, USA, China, Taiwan, Seoul, Thailand, and many other countries. It has been such a wonderful experience.

AMWAY has changed our lives tremendously. Today, we have a wonderful lifestyle and a happy, healthy family. We can choose to take a break from our business, and still enjoy a steady income. Furthermore, our children had also signed up!
