I was a car cushion maker and Gen Kiaw was a seamstress before we joined AMWAY™. At that time, Sabah was the place to go if you wanted to seek your fortune. So, we went there hoping to earn enough to buy a car and bungalow.

Even though I worked seven days a week, 10 hours a day, and sometimes until midnight, our dreams remained unfulfilled. Gen Kiaw, too, was busy with her job and taking care of our children.

Leisure time for the family was either watching a movie or going to the seaside. We didn’t have enough money to even think of holidaying abroad.

Later, we moved to the suburbs as rental in the city was much too expensive. Our life was insecure and we kept looking for an opportunity to change our lives. Lack of capital was one of our main stumbling blocks.
