Gladstone & Violet were first introduced to the AMWAY™ business in early 1976. What really got them excited was the long-term security and lifetime income. Gladstone read a copy of “The Possible Dream” and found that AMWAY was not just another soap business. Indeed, there was a lot of hope in the soap.

There were a lot of mental obstacles they had to overcome before they grasped the true concept of the business. “In this business you can only succeed if you help other people succeed first. It took us a while to understand this, especially after five years in the insurance line,” says Gladstone.

“We had some great challenges, but we didn’t look at these challenges as ‘stop signs’ but as ‘go-ahead signs’. ‘Winners never quit. Quitters never win.’ Not having transport should be the reason to do this business and not the excuse.”

Over the years, they’ve travelled many times overseas, all paid for by the company and stayed in choice hotels. They’ve made many friends within and outside Malaysia. One of the greatest rewards is that they’re able to spend a lot of time with their children. They are also their own boss; they can choose to work or relax.

“Many companies talk about freedom, of being your own boss but you have a quota to meet or risk being terminated. The money which we receive will keep on coming month after month, year after year whether we work or stop. That’s financial independence. Many people have a lot of money but no time. Others have a lot of time but no money. In AMWAY, we have both!”
