My parents gifted me an Amway Starter Kit on my 18th birthday. I knew about Amway because my family members were actively building the business, but I decided I was not interested then.
At age 19, I attended a seminar where the Amway Leadership Seminar destination was the Alaskan Cruise. The idea that ordinary people could build a business and be rewarded with extraordinary experiences was my turning point.
That decision changed everything. It also taught me never to reject an opportunity you do not fully understand. At the time, I was studying law part-time while working full-time.
Pavithran was an APAC Regional IT Manager when I introduced him to Amway. While he had a successful career, the job demanded a great deal of his time. The pandemic reinforced how valuable it is to have a strong Plan B and an income stream that was not dependent on a single career.
The biggest resistance to the business came from ourselves. I didn’t take the time to understand the business thoroughly, while Pavithran was fairly new to the business. Despite that, we chose to build a business of our own, one that could give us freedom in every aspect of life. It was our way of taking control of how we work, live, and grow.
I set one goal: to achieve Diamond, retire young, and build a life on my own terms. Success is not determined by where you start. It is determined by your willingness to learn, stay consistent, and never give up.
Pavithran wanted to be part of that journey. Once he saw what consistent effort, mentorship, and duplication could create, he knew it was time to leave his corporate career so that we could pursue the business full-time together.
As our business grew, so did our sense of purpose. What started as a pursuit of financial freedom evolved into a mission to help others discover their potential and achieve their goals. We learned to build people, not just a business.
When we achieved Diamond, our first feeling was gratitude towards our mentors, Double Diamond Mugunthan & Sarina Dewi, Founders Platinum Baskaran & Rani, our family, and our team members.
Today, the rewards we value most are not material gains. They are personal growth, stronger relationships, and the opportunity to positively impact lives. Even more rewarding is seeing our family members build their own Amway businesses. What began as a dream for ourselves has become a shared vision of developing more leaders and creating opportunities for future generations.
