Founders Executive Diamond
WAYNE TAN & JOANNE LOOI
Kuala Lumpur
We had zero knowledge and experience in doing business, and didn’t have much money too. Our social circles were limited to only our peers. That was how we started the Amway business. I was a PhD student in Biotechnology and Joanne was pursuing her Master of Economics.
When my upline shared the Amway Business Opportunity with me, I was convinced with the potential of network marketing. My goal was just to earn an extra RM400 a month for our wedding. However, to Joanne, direct selling would never be our cup of tea since we could potentially have high-flying careers with our academic qualifications. She changed her mind after attending several Amway meetings.
We never thought we would made it this far. We faced countless obstacles and rejections but took all of them in stride. It is important to stand up again after we fall. The positive and motivating environment helped shaped our mindset a lot. At the end of the day, are all the sweat and tears worth it? Absolutely. We achieved Diamond in 6 years and Executive Diamond 2 years later.
Through Amway, our dreams came true one by one. I fulfilled my initial goal of getting married in the Maldives! We love travelling and have already been to 34 countries around the world in just 9 years. We even flew First Class to South America in 2018 after achieving Executive Diamond.
Come to think about it, we are just two Gen Ys selling soap and toothpaste for a living! We even brought our parents on numerous vacations together. Seeing the smile on their faces is one of the most satisfying rewards in this business.
The beautiful part about Amway is that it can be easily duplicated. Everyone has the same opportunity to succeed. Our team is like our extended family, consisting of people from diverse background. We love witnessing their growth and moving forward together in the same direction.
Amway is not just another direct selling business, but a business that gives people the freedom to curate a life they love! Never be afraid to venture out of your comfort zone. Do not be afraid of failures. Ask yourself, “What if you succeed?” Again, if you can succeed now, why wait?
