I was invited to an Amway seminar twice, and both times, I said no. I thought I didn’t need Amway. When I joined the workforce, I realised nobody was waiting to help me or cared about my degree. So, I called the man I had ignored twice.

Initially, I was attracted to the travel rewards, but soon discovered that this business could become an asset that could be inherited. I saw a path where effort and persistence could lead to a different life for me and the people I love.

Not everyone supported my decision though. My father strongly opposed it. I still remember secretly changing clothes inside my car before meetings so he wouldn’t realise where I was going. My ABO friends jokingly called me ‘Superman’.

One night after a meeting, my father locked the door and refused to let me in. I was completely heartbroken, wondering why chasing a better future had to be so difficult. Instead of arguing, I focused on improving myself. My upline taught me to be patient and let the results speak for themselves.

After a year, I achieved Platinum. Slowly, the objections stopped. I wanted to prove to my father, my friends, and myself that this could work, so I kept moving forward.

My wife was working as an admin clerk and did facials for extra income. One day, she injured her hand and couldn’t continue working normally. That same month, she received an Amway bonus for achieving 9%. From then on, she committed to building the business together.

One of the biggest lessons I learned on this journey is this: “Focus on what YOU CAN DO, NOT on what YOU CAN’T CONTROL.” Getting emotional over things you can’t control won’t move your life forward. Taking action will. That mindset shaped the way I built the business.

I followed the system closely and treated people sincerely, whether they were ABOs or customers. People may forget what you say, but they remember how genuine you were with them.

When my wife and I found out that we had achieved Diamond, we were both overjoyed. This achievement belonged to the both of us. The biggest rewards have been the personal growth, the mindset shift, the ability to help my parents, spend more time with my daughter, and watch other people grow on their own journey.

Today, my father has become a Founders Platinum, while my brothers are Platinums. Sometimes, people may not believe in your vision immediately. They simply need to see your persistence first.
