When they first started the business, it was done out of pure curiosity. They were leading busy yet comfortable lives professionally and financially; Siew Fang had a successful medical practice while Celia was progressing as a head nurse in a prestigious hospital.

Yet they were driven by the need to find out for themselves how good the business was. They had heard tell that AMWAY™ was an exciting business with no risk involved. “That is one of the biggest differences between us and many others. Most people do not find out for themselves. They ask others, and usually they ask the ‘wrong’ people; people who have not done the business or who have so-called tried but failed, or the self-proclaimed experts. Very seldom do they ask the ones who have made it,” they say.

They put in the hours despite their busy schedules and having three young children to care for. What they found out more than made up for their effort and sacrifice. “Notwithstanding its great potential, AMWAY is fundamentally a very simple business. People who have no business experience, or people with very low or no education can build the business just as well as those who are established conventional businessmen, or those with strings of university degrees.”

Ironically, as they progressed, they also realised that the business could give time to people who have no time! “We are experiencing the uncommon freedom that can only be attained when one is ‘money-rich’ and ‘time-rich’.”

So how did they make it work?

“First and foremost we worked hard,” the couple say matter-of-factly. “A genuine business requires work. Anything that does not is not a business. Some people expect to be rich by not working only to end up disappointed.

“We surrounded ourselves with positive people who encouraged us and believed in us. We in turn encouraged and motivated others around us.
“This is really a wonderful business that shouldn’t be taken lightly!”
