Spend 10 years as an employee and you may end up with nothing. Spend 10 years running a conventional business and you may find yourself in troubled waters. Spend 10 years building your Amway business and chances are, you’ll be successful!
I started my own business in 1991 and made my first million in 1995. However, I was suffering from stress, my business was plagued by troubles and I felt helpless. Although I ran my business for 17 years, I realised we would have no income once we stopped working.
When Amway knocked on my door, my initial reaction was – “Why Amway?” Why would the mere mention of a direct selling business make a person so apprehensive? Often it’s because you’re fearful that you have to get out of your comfort zone and start something new from scratch. Hence, the majority of the population remains status quo.
So when my sponsor Yong Letty Lee Yeng introduced me to Amway, I studied the Amway Sales & Marketing Plan and signed up on 22 April 2005. In June, we held our first Amway Business Opportunity meeting and invited 50-60 people, but only 4 turned up.
We soldiered on and qualified Silver Producer in June and Gold Producer in October. In 2006, we achieved Platinum in January, Sapphire and Emerald in April, Founders Platinum in June and Founders Sapphire in August.
The business took a backseat for the next 6 years as we decided to enjoy our relaxing lifestyle. Then we started rebuilding the business and qualified Founders Emerald in July 2012, followed by Diamond in August 2017.
If you want to be incredibly successful, do something that most people aren’t willing to do. Life is short, choose to make your life meaningful. Prior to Amway, my holiday destinations were limited only to Asian countries.
Now, thanks to Amway, we’ve been invited to 15 Amway Leadership Seminars and 4 Diamond Invitational trips. So build an Amway business and travel the world!
