As a boy, Steven dreamt of becoming a doctor. His family was poor. He used to help his parents in the farm and even took on various part-time jobs. Soon, it became clear to him that he would not be able to afford to continue his studies the way he wanted to due to financial constraints.

Before long, Steven had to quit school altogether. He ended up working at a printing house in Kuala Lumpur. His diligence paid off when his performance started to be recognised at work. Before he knew it, he had been with the company for 10 years. However, he felt that his life had stagnated. His work kept him busy, most of the time until early hours in the morning. He had no freedom and his future was uncertain. He decided it was time to make a change and plucked up the courage to do so.

Still he resisted when friends first introduced him to AMWAY™ and the products. He even tried talking a hometown acquaintance out of the business. Instead of giving up, his acquaintance persisted in exposing Steven to the business. Gradually, his persistence and determination won Steven over. After turning down many invitations, he finally agreed to attend a meeting.

Naturally, he was surprised when he found out that AMWAY could be the key towards bringing him closer to the lifestyle he wanted. Although he had little confidence and was still doubtful, his desire for change was stronger. He was determined to try and to succeed.

“Those who hesitate will lose; those who make a move will win. Instead of over-thinking things, just make a decision and act on it,” says Steven. Of course, he faced countless challenges but he also came to realise that every challenge could be solved by taking the right action.

Steven laughs when he recalled the many times people asked him for tips to make it to the top because there are no tips or secrets. “Make a commitment. Many choose to look at AMWAY as outsiders, they signed up but were reluctant to commit. Eventually, they quit before even seeing the full potential of the business. Stay focused. Once you’ve chosen AMWAY, don’t let anyone talk you out of it. You’ll succeed if you don’t give up and stick to your convictions,” he shares.

He continues, “Be persistent and take things one step at a time. Success never comes by sheer chance or coincidence; regardless of the challenges or setback, don’t give up halfway, but persevere, persevere, persevere!”
