WONG MEE SAN & KEE KOK JOO
Life before AMWAY™ was ordinary. I was a teacher while Kok Joo was a lawyer. Although I loved teaching, my life felt empty. My dreams seemed too far out of reach even after many years in the workforce.
Due to my family’s humble beginnings, we strove even harder towards financial independence, especially after my dad’s retirement. My mentor once said, “Don’t worry about the risks of the business. At worst, you’ll be back to square one.” Furthermore, my elder sister, Founders Platinum Wong Mee Nguk had been constantly persuading me to give the business a try.
It’s true that if you really want to accomplish something, you’ll find a way; if you don’t, you’ll find many excuses. Hence, I decided to fulfil my dreams and build my own AMWAY business.
I was clueless when I first started as I had no prior business experience. “Attend the meetings. You must know your business from the inside out before you work towards your goals and generate income from it,” my sister advised. And the only way to understand and become familiar with the business is through continuous learning.
We faced various setbacks, including disapprovals from our family members. Besides that, I had to juggle between work during the day and conducting tuition classes at night. I had to reduce my personal time to accommodate my hectic lifestyle. Even so, I only had a couple of hours per week for this business.
In AMWAY, you get to enjoy long-term rewards for the one-time effort you put in, unlike conventional businesses. It’s a business that helps realise dreams. You may receive very little in return for the effort you put in when you first started out. Be persistent and persevere. You’ll reap what you sow in multiple folds in the future.
AMWAY upholds four core values – Freedom, Hope, Family and Reward – which we now have in our daily lives. These fulfilling qualities made AMWAY an attractive business and we’re proud and excited to share it with those around us.
