Selangor
I am the eldest of six siblings while Kamal is the second of seven siblings. We both received our medical degrees from Univeriti Sains Malaysia in 2003, after which we were posted to Hospital Tuanku Ampuan Najihah in Kuala Pilah as trainee doctors. We were working between 24 and 36 hours at a stretch and scheduled to be on-call almost every day. After four months, I started to feel that I was in the wrong career.
Amidst my hectic schedule, I met Founders Diamond Siti Ena Eden when I was invited to a cooking demonstration. After being introduced to the Amway Sales & Marketing Plan, I signed up but took no action and rejected numerous invitations to attend events. One day, I was invited to yet another event and was told that the speaker was a paediatrician. My heart whispered, “Wow! How is it that a childcare professional with a five-figure salary is also interested in building an Amway business?” That was the turning point for me. While all our colleagues chose to further their studies in their respective fields of expertise, we made a serious decision to build our Amway business instead.
Our life’s plan
The 40-40-40 Plan: We do not want to work 40 hours a week for 40 weeks a year for 40 years and retire at age 60.
The 2-5 years Plan: Once we understand the concept of ‘duplication and leverage’, we learned to fully embrace the concept of the Amway business and how we can enjoy early retirement by working consistently for 2-5 years.
The key in building a successful Amway business:
1. Believe in yourself 100%
2. Believe in the company and Amway products 100%
3. Believe in your upline sponsor 100%
There can be no success without effort, focus, discipline and high self-sustainability. Building a successful Amway business is not about how fast you can build it, but rather how long you are able to sustain it. There is no such thing as failure in building an Amway business except for those who give up easily. In 2014, I left my medical career to pursue our business full-time. Our motto is, “Your past success is not the be-all and end-all, but a starting point to achieve greater success in the future.”
