NELSON TAN & GRACE TAN
Pahang
After graduating, I was offered a management job by a telecommunications service provider, and was put in charge of managing six branches. It was stressful trying to juggle my busy schedule; I skipped my regular meals and didn’t get enough rest.
Seven months later, the hectic lifestyle took a toll on my health. My colleagues and friends told me I looked terrible, but I had no idea what to do. One day, a client introduced me to Nutrilite™ supplements. I decided to sign up with Amway to buy some products.
A week after consuming the supplements, I noticed that my energy levels started to improve. I was so confident in the products that I started to share it among my friends and relatives. I was also surprised to receive a considerable amount of bonus, equalling half my monthly salary, for that month.
Attracted by the Amway business, I started to learn more about the Amway Sales & Marketing Plan. I spent all my free time attending Amway-sponsored meetings and even drove from Bentong to Kuala Lumpur and Seremban to meet with our leaders weekly.
I made sure that every piece of knowledge and the skills that I learnt at each meeting was put to good use in my Amway business. Initially, although I did not earn as much as others around me, I still believed that the reward I will receive in the future will far exceed all the money and time I was investing in learning.
When I first started out in Amway, my biggest challenge came from Grace. After graduating, Grace became a secondary school teacher. She was under the impression that the Amway business involved door-to-door soliciting, and insisted that I focused on being a salaried employee instead. She even said, “We can be product users, but not business owners.”
I tried to invite Grace to attend meetings, but she turned me down every time. Undeterred, I kept on learning, sharing about the products and the Sales & Marketing Plan with others, and started sponsoring. Several months later, Grace realised that she couldn’t afford to fulfil her dream of travelling the world with her meagre salary.
Knowing that the time had come, I invited Grace to attend a major Amway rally again. At the event, she finally realised that the Amway Business Opportunity can help make our dreams come true. That’s when she decided to go all out to build our Amway business.
As a result of our hard work and team effort, we qualified Ruby in 2012, Sapphire in 2013, Founders Sapphire and Emerald in 2014 and achieved Diamond in 2015. Besides enjoying a passive income, Grace and I have also grown closer as a couple as we share common goals, aspirations and topics of discussion. The most attractive part is that we get invited for the Amway Leadership Seminars (ALS) as well as the chance to travel around the world in style with Amway.
We have been invited for the ALS in Japan, Los Angeles, France, Hokkaido, Sydney, Las Vegas and Scandinavian Cruise. We have also been invited to Nutrilite’s Trout Lake Farm in the USA. Our Amway business has provided us with financial security and a bright future.
