I graduated as a medical doctor from Universiti Malaya in 1997, and furthered my studies to specialise as a paediatrician in 2002. Siew Peng graduated with an economics degree from Universiti Utara Malaysia, and later got her diploma in Pre-school Child Education & Psychology.

I was very busy working as a consultant paediatrician at a private hospital in my hometown of Alor Setar, Kedah. At that time, our two children were only four and two years old. Siew Peng became a full time homemaker after giving birth to our first child. We were not happy at that time because I couldn’t spend much time with my family.

In 2004, Siew Peng’s sister introduced the AMWAY Business Opportunity to her by bringing her to a major function in Kuala Lumpur. Both Siew Peng and I used to be negative about the direct selling business. However, the event opened her eyes to the truth. She saw the true values of the AMWAY business, which would give our family the freedom of time and security that we were looking for.

Siew Peng brought back audio tapes and motivation books when she returned from the function. I started to read the books and listening to the tapes, and was attended another major function in Kuala Lumpur. At that function, I realised that AMWAY is a “people helping people” business, and I was convinced that I will be able to achieve both the time and financial freedom that I desired.

When we were starting to build the business, we faced many challenges and objections from our friends and relatives. Realising that we needed the guidance of our active uplines, we made the decision to move from Alor Setar to Kuala Lumpur. I resigned from my job at the private hospital and started my own practice.

Despite the numerous challenges, we choose to persevere with guidance from our uplines. Tough times never last, but tough people do. We achieved Platinum and Founders Platinum in 2006 and 2007 respectively, successfully qualified for our first AMWAY Leadership Seminar (ALS) trip, which was the Alaskan cruise. We have since been invited to attend the ALS in Los Angeles, Paris, Sydney, Hokkaido, Auckland and Las Vegas. During the Las Vegas trip in 2015, we extended our trip to visit the AMWAY Global HQ at Grand Rapids, Ada, Michigan.

We achieved Founders Sapphire and Emerald in 2015, and Founders Emerald and Diamond in February 2016. In order to be successful in the AMWAY business, we must first have a dream that drives us to take action. Next, we must set our goal and make a strong commitment to achieve the goal.
