As a banker, Ellis's father has a wide circle of friends who are successful business people. When Ellis turned 18, his father encouraged him to become an AMWAY Business Owner.

His parents were far-sighted indeed. They were confident that Ellis would be able to achieve all-round success besides financial gains through AMWAY. Ellis and his wife Kennix are now qualified Diamonds who live a carefree, colorful life.

The couple started out as business partners. Ellis emphasised a lot on staff training. According to him, a training module mainly comprises of three technological aspects, namely sourcing, sales and services. His focus was on team building for international markets such as the US, China and South East Asia, while Kennix was responsible for domestic training.

These training sessions enabled his business associates to expand their network more effectively, while improving on product sales and services. After all, his ultimate goal was to achieve financial independence and all-round success together with his business associates.

Apart from the three essential elements of training, interpersonal virtues and good attributes were also part and parcel of his training module. He believed that integrity, gratitude and honesty are keys to everything in life. These values are the requirements of being human.

He also emphasised on the five cardinal relationships, namely between a ruler and his subjects, between parents and their offspring, between a husband and wife, between seniors and juniors, and among friends.

Each person has a role to play when interacting with others in order to avoid trouble and to make this world a better place to live in. These teachings on matters of ethics and morality constitute the fundamentals of his training modules.

When Ellis encounters challenges and objections, he overcome them with an optimistic attitude and a positive mindset. He observed that many newcomers joined and left AMWAY as they're not mentally prepared to face objections yet. Therefore, he decided to explain to the uninitiated so that they gain a better understanding about the AMWAY business.

Despite being faced with such a challenging task, he managed to deal with it successfully by adopting the right attitude, while improving on his personal attributes and his ability to examine situations that arise critically and in detail.

Ellis enjoys travelling around the world and has visited numerous countries. Once when he was on a Caribbean cruise, some holidaymakers were amazed by his optimistic attitude and asked him about his secret to happiness. He answered them, "We have a wonderful captain and several excellent chefs here. So many people are here to assist us by rendering their services. We should just learn to be thankful to others and you'll find happiness in life."

For those who wish to follow in his footsteps, his advice is this, “We live in a world with plenty of resources around. If you know how to make good use of them and look at the world with an optimistic mindset, you'll have extra time to enjoy life.” Ellis attributes the absolute freedom he enjoys to AMWAY's top notch management.
