Executive Diamond
FATHIAH SHAMSUDDIN & AIDA SABRINA ZULKIFLI
Kuala Lumpur
Zul spent 30 years in the corporate world; his last-held position was Chief Executive Officer. Fathiah once held a senior position with a multinational oil company before starting her own conventional business.
After they were “accidentally” shown the opportunity, Fathiah was willing to research it, but Zul had negative views. Their perspective changed when they discovered that there was a structured training programme they could follow. They also saw the immense potential of creating wealth and residual income without considerable financial investments. The availability of support from a successful, experienced group of local and international entrepreneurs made the business even more attractive.
In August 2001, they qualified as Diamond. They couldn’t believe that with three years of focus, commitment and work, their AMWAY™ business was able to retire Zul from the stress of running a company. They both now enjoy their freedom in combining their successful home-based business with spending quality time with daughter, Sabrina. But as in any road to success, they had to overcome major family and personal challenges.
In the last two years of their three-year journey to Diamond, Sabrina was diagnosed with a congenital heart problem and had to undergo two open-heart surgeries. Two weeks after qualifying Diamond, Zul was wheeled into surgery from cardiovascular complications. Their AMWAY business not only gave Fathiah and Zul the time away, it continued to grow while they were inactive.
“There are times in your life you will not only need the time and money, but also the people. And we are grateful that AMWAY has given us all of those and that we have built the business before we needed it,” says Fathiah.
Over the years, they have helped retire some working mothers and are looking forward to help retire fathers too so that their children could also enjoy having full-time parents, just like Sabrina.
