Executive Diamond
IGNATIUS & JACQUELINE AUGUSTINE
Selangor
I was working as a medical doctor and Jacqueline was an executive at a multinational corporation when we were introduced to Amway. Exactly 24 months after starting our business, we retired from our jobs! I was 31 and Jacqueline was 27 when we became financially-free.
This uncommon freedom enabled us to be fulltime parents to our two growing boys and enjoying our time together as a family. We also enjoyed the freedom to travel and pursue our passion, i.e. scuba diving.
Jacqueline and I have been enjoying our Amway journey immensely. We have seen many people’s lives change for the better and helped many others with health issues. Seeing their health improve helps boost our confidence in Amway and its products.
In life, making the right choice is important in determining our destiny. Do not live life trying to please others. While I may not know the key to success, one of the keys to failure is trying to please everyone.
To succeed in life, the most important factor is how we handle our emotions. What stops most people from greatness and achieving their dreams is that they allow themselves to get “hurt” emotionally.
When we allow ourselves to be easily hurt by rejection or comments by others, it stops us in our tracks. If we can learn to handle our emotions and keep moving forward, we will achieve our goals eventually.
My analogy is this; you are driving on a dark and winding road, and along the way, you discover that a pack of wolves is chasing your car. Will you stop to “reason” with the wolves? You wouldn’t right? So the best thing to do is to press on towards your destination and not allow such things to distract you.
We are where we are and what we are because of the choices we make. If we do what other successful people do, then we will enjoy the same results and rewards that they do.
Jacqueline and I are ordinary people from a typical middle class family. All we did differently was the little “extra”. Despite our busy schedule, we did the little “extra” everyday.
This included attending meetings, or showing the Amway Sales & Marketing Plan or sharing the products. The ability to discipline ourselves to delay gratification in the short term to enjoy greater rewards in the long term led to our success.
The little “extra” we did everyday added up, and today we have an “extra”ordinary lifestyle. We have travelled to so many cities and countries, which I would not have the chance to visit as a busy medical doctor.
In July 2016, we were invited for the Diamond Invitational (DI) Scandinavian Cruise. In March 2017, we headed for DI Tanzania. In July, we went for the Amway Leadership Seminar (ALS) Mediterranean Cruise and ALS Hawaii, USA, in December.
In 2018, we are scheduled to go for DI South America, then it’s off to A60 Las Vegas in 2019. That’s four continents in two years; a dream come true for me. This business is for ordinary people who want to live an extraordinary life!
