• One Life
The journey to success in Amway is by no means easy for anyone. Like others, we struggled and faced many challenges throughout our journey. However, if you persevere, maintain your focus, remain dedicated and committed to your goals, and at the same time, hold on firmly and unwaveringly to the following principles, you will be the next Amway superstar.
• One Business
Having an “attitude of success” makes a difference in everything we do. Leading by example, establishing an emotional connection with others and walking the talk are key components in creating the right mindset in this business. The key to cultivating this is to embody Amway in your mind, heart, soul and actions.
We need to have an entrepreneurial mindset to be the best. For Chan, even something as simple as how a person is addressed by others can make a difference. He often said, “I ask my ABOs to address me as Lau Pan (Boss Chan), not for my own benefit, but as a reminder to them that they are their own boss.”
• Just Do It
Amway is a simple business. So keep it as simple as possible so that everyone can easily start their own Amway business. Embrace Amway as a holistic lifestyle wholeheartedly, because when you do, your sharing comes across as genuine.
When you become the product of the product, you will feel very confident, and others will be easily persuaded by your sharing, because you are a living example.
When you persistently gather likeminded people and engage in the basic 3S (sharing, selling and sponsoring), your team will naturally grow exponentially. This reminds me of a phrase Chan was fond of saying, “No bees, no honey; no work, no money.” This is the only way to build a solid and sustainable Amway business, one that will enable the business to grow fast and successfully.
• Dare to Change
Life is about embracing constant changes. Despite all that we have achieved, I choose not to remain in my comfort zone. I constantly push myself to do something out of the ordinary. At our recent recognition rally, I challenged myself to speak in all 4 languages – Bahasa Malaysia, English, Mandarin and Tamil. It was no easy feat by any means.
I did it so that everyone can enjoy the event and feel respected, just like how I’m doing it here in this article.
In truth, most of us don’t get to reach our full potential. We are our own biggest obstacle; we often tell ourselves that we’re not good in this, or we don’t have the skills in that.
Change comes from within us. We need to change our thoughts to change our actions. Do this continuously and consistently until it becomes a new habit, then success will surely follow. So go ahead, be brave and embrace change.
