ALAN GOH AH LAK & BAN KWEE
Johor
We were in the clothing industry for ten years prior to signing up as AMWAY Business Owners (ABOs).
Although we owned three boutiques and a factory, we were always stressed out, with heavy workload and worries. We had no freedom at all. I (Ban Kwee) was working so hard that my health began to fail and I was always on medication. Gradually, I became pessimistic about the future and was in despair.
It was my younger sister who introduced me to AMWAY. I signed up in order to purchase NUTRILITE™ supplements at ABO Price. My health improved soon after and this changed my perception of AMWAY. I began to trust AMWAY products and the desire to make my business successful was ignited.
At first, I (Alan) thought of AMWAY merely as a soap business, so my attitude was one of indifference. In 1990 I was invited to attend the AMWAY Leadership Seminar in Hong Kong. There, I was introduced to several eminent AMWAY leaders and was impressed by their speech and attitude. It was then that I decided to work wholeheartedly to develop our AMWAY business.
It wasn’t easy at the beginning. Some of our friends and family members were discouraging, but we persevered. We attended many meetings, worked hard and learned as much as we could.
We believe that good things should be shared with others and so we share unreservedly. We have proven that everything is possible when a husband and wife work together for a common goal.
We like AMWAY, not only because it is a sharing and caring business, but also because it has given us freedom, good friends, financial independence and an avenue for self-actualisation. The rewards are simply great!
There will always be challenges, but we can overcome them. We can turn things around if we take heart, persevere and plan well.
